Dutch international goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus has joined Manchester City on a short-term contract, the Premier League side has confirmed.

The 33-year-old Dutch international, who left PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer at the end of last seasonhas signed a five-month contract.

Waterreus played 285 games for PSV over a 10-year period.

He will act as understudy to England keeper David James. His arrival follows the loss through injury of Belgian international Geert de Vlieger, who ruptured his Achilles tendon in his third game of the season.
