Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that striker Emmanuel Adebayor will be sidelined for the next three weeks.

The Togo international sustained an ankle injury in last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Stoke City and is now set to miss a number of key clashes in November, including Saturday’s game versus Manchester United.

Wenger said on the club’s official website: “Adebayor will be three weeks.

“(Theo) Walcott could be days or weeks. It is the shoulder he had the surgery on. We don’t know about (William) Gallas yet but (Bacary) Sagna will be back in the squad.”
