Dutch national coach Dick Advocaat has extended his contract until July 2006, the Dutch football association (KNVB) has confirmed.

Advocaat has been charge in July 2002 and steered them to Euro 2004 with victory over Scotland in the playoffs.

The KNVB added that is was negotiating with assistant coach Wim van Hanegem over a contract extension

“The KNVB is very satisfied with Dick Advocaat,” said KNVB director Henk Kesler.

“The coming months are very important. So I am very pleased that we created clearness about the future before the start of preparation of the European Championship.”

Holland face Germany, the Czech Republic and Latvia in Group D at Euro 2004 in Portugal.
