With half of the Premier League campaign gone where have punters been squeezing the value from the bookies?

Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre is adamant he will not be quitting his post.

Aguirre incurred the wrath of some of his side’s fans during the home leg Copa del Rey defeat to Barcelona with some supporters calling for him to resign during the 3-1 defeat.

However, the Mexican coach said ater the match: “It has not crossed my mind to resign.

“It has been a strange week. Everything that was good up until December 20 is now becoming complicated. We’re the same team that went 15 games without losing and we haven’t forgotten how to play football.

“We have to focus on Athletic now and earn three points to move closer to the European spots.”

Aguirre has also not given up hope of being able to turn their Copa del Rey tie against Barca around in next week`s second leg at the Nou Camp.

“The tie is very complicated, but we’re not going to give up on it,” he added.
