Valencia have received a boost ahead of next week’s vital Champions League encounter against Arsenal, with the news that playmaker Pablo Aimar will be fit for the match.

The Argentinian was rated doubtful for the clash with the Premiership champions after picking up a thigh injury against Osasuna two weeks ago, but Aimar is on the road too recovery and looks set to start at Highbury.

“I have recovered well,’ confirmed Aimar. ‘I haven’t felt any discomfort for a few days and everything is going to plan.

“I am not yet working at the same pace as my colleagues but I think I can play the next matches,” he added.

After being held at home by Ajax, Valencia can ill-afford any more sllip-ups if they are to maintain their pursuit of a third Champions League final appearance in the last four years.
