Bolton Wanderers have decided to terminate the contract of Turkish international midfielder Akin Bulent.

The midfielder, who joined from Galatasaray in the summer on a free transfer, has been unlucky with injuries and after signing a three-year deal, has made just two starts for Sam Allardyce’s side.

“We decided from both our points of view that another club would be a better avenue for Akin,” explained Allardyce.

“It’s a huge disappointment for both of us on the back of what his CV suggested when he came to us.”

He added: “Having to overcome a cruciate ligament repair held him back and I was not willing to take a risk and see what he can do.”
