Albacete have sacked their coach, Jose Gonzalez, after Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat to lowly Numancia saw them drop into the relegation zone.

The Primera Liga club said reserve team coach Martin Monteagudo would now take charge.

Gonzalez was appointed at the start of the season to replace Cesar Ferrando who left the club to join Atletico Madrid.

Gonzalez’s sacking means that the bottom four clubs in the Primera Liga have all sacked their coaches this season.

Albacete lie 18th place in the 20-team Primera Liga, a point behind Racing Santander and two ahead of Real Mallorca.
