So who will join Spurs in the Carling Cup Final? Chelsea take a 2-1 lead into the 2nd-leg at Goodison tonight.

Valencia’s out-of-favour midfielder claims that both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in signing him.

The Spanish international is set to leave Valencia before the close of the transfer window after being told he had no future at the club by new coach Ronald Koeman.

However, Albelda is currently in dispute with the club over their insistence that any buyer should match their buyout clause of €60m.

“I am grateful to Tottenham and Chelsea for their interest, but I cannot negotiate until I have sorted out my departure from Valencia,” Albelda told AS.

“I am very attracted to playing in England and especially in London.”
