Middlesbrough have completed a deal to sign Arsenal’sFrench striker Jeremie Aliadiere.

Aliadiere, 24, has signed a four-year deal for an initial fee of £2m.

“We tried to sign him in January but were thwarted by Arsenal’s injuries,” said Boro chief executive Keith Lamb.

“He fits perfectly with the sort of player we are trying to bring in.

“He has pace and energy and he is young with his best years in front of him.”

The French forward has been with Arsenal since he was 16, had loan spells at West Ham, Celtic and Wolves.

Aliadiere started only 19 senior games for Arsenal, scoring nine goals.
