Afonso Alves will arrive in England on Wednesday to commence his Middlesbrough career after being granted his visa.
The Brazilian international signed for Boro last week in a club deal reportedly worth more than £12million.
The striker was denied his debut in Sunday’s game against Newcastle at the weekend because although he had a work permit.
Alves is now set to link-up with his new team-mates on Wednesday and he could well make his Premier League debut against Fulham at the weekend.
Boro have Tuncay Sanli and Mido on their injury list and Alves could be in line to start.
