Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini will miss the rest of the season after suffering a leg injury in Saturday’s Serie A win over Messina.

Milan said Ambrosini had suffered a fibula fracture in his left leg and would be out for a month.

The 28-year-old Italian international has been a bit part player for Milan this season. However his absence comes at a bad time for Milan with Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf given a two-match ban following his dismissal in the final minute of the 3-1 win at Messina.

Milan trail Juventus in Serie A by three points with three games of the season remaining.
