Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has given his backing to Hernan Crespo after he was jeered by the Rossoneri fans in last night’s clash with Roma.

The Argentinian striker has yet to score since his loan move from Chelsea, but Ancelotti is confident he will soon regain his scoring touch.

“He has yet to show what he’s capable of because he’s still not in the best physical condition,” Ancelotti was quoted as saying in the Gazzetta dello Sport..

“He’ll have the time and space (to improve). I know Hernan well, and in the end, the whistles will be an incentive for him.”

Meanwhile, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi was disappointed with his side’s failure to capitalize on Juventus surprise defeat to Rgggina.

“We gave Juventus a great gift,” he said.

“Milan suffered the law of football, they wasted a lot and were held to a draw. It went well for us, because Roma could have even won.

“It is a pity because we were given a good chance after Juventus’ defeat to Reggina, but we missed too many opportunities.”
