Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he hopes to extend his contract with the Rossoneri.

Ancelotti’s current deal runs until 2008, but both parties have admittted that they are happy to sign an extension.

“My deal is set to expire next year, but I still give my intention to extend it,” he told a press conference.

“I’d be happy should this happen.”

Meanwhile, Ancelotti revealed that he is confident that Milan’s keeper Dida will be fit for next week’s Champions League semi-final against Manchester United.

The Brazilian damaged his shoulder against Messina on Sunday and is set to undergo a scan on Thursday.

“It isn’t particularly a serious thing, and we will do everything possible so he recovers for Tuesday,” Ancelotti added.

“If he does, it is guaranteed he will play, otherwise he won’t.”
