UEFA has fined Anderlecht and Lazio €18,000 each for their fans’ misconduct at recent European club matches.
Lazio were fined for the racist behaviour of fans at a Champions League Group C tie against Werder Bremen in Germany on October 24, while Anderlecht were punished after their fans threw missiles during a UEFA Cup game against England’s Tottenham Hotspur on December 6.
Tottenham players told British media at the time that a number of objects were thrown onto the pitch during the 1-1 draw, with Spurs defender Didier Zokora requiring treatment after being struck by a missile. Goalkeeper Paul Robinson handed a metal bar he found lying on the pitch to the fourth official after the match.
Anderlecht were fined by UEFA earlier in the season for crowd disturbances during a Champions League qualifier against Turkey’s Fenerbahce.
