Fenerbahce are expected to complete a move for Nicolas Anelka this week, according to sources in Turkey.

The Manchester City striker is expected to travel to Istanbul to discuss terms after the two clubs agreed a sale for the controversial striker.

Although City have insisted they only interested in a permanent deal for the Frenchman, it is being suggested that Fener have managed to agree a six-month loan deal costing €4.7m with a view to a long-term deal.

Anelka has been out of City’s starting line-up recently with a groin problem.
