Radomir Antic has agreed a one-year deal with Barcelona.

The club’s interim president Enric Reyna and the Serbian coach confirmed the deal last night, although the contract must be verified by the winner of presidential elections due in June.

Reyna took over in February after Joan Gaspart decided to stand down but announced last week that the board would resign en masse in the summer to allow for the new elections.

“Antic has done a good job up until now and we are convinced that he will continue to do so,” said Reyna on the club’s official website.

He added that the move was a “sign of the confidence” the club had in Antic.

Antic’s original contract was scheduled to run until the end of the season.

Barca currently lie 12th in the Primera Division, the same position they were in when Antic arrived at the end of January to replace Louis van Gaal.
