Yugoslav Radomir Antic is poised to succeed Louis van Gaal as Barcelona coach, according to a report on RadioMarca earlier today.
The 53-year-old former Atletico and Real Madrid coach has been discussing the position with Barcelona president Joan Gaspart and looks set to be appointed until the end of the season.
Antic steered Atletico to a league and cup double in 1996, but hasnot worked since presiding over Real Oviedo relegation in July 2001.
Reports of Antic’s apppointment contradict earlier reports which stated that former Argentina boss Cesar Luis Menotti had been approached to return to the helm at Barcelona, 18 years aftyer he walked outon the club.
