Tottenham sporting director Frank Arnesen has confirmed that Ajax are interested in recruiting Martin Jol.

Jol, who has impressed at White Hart Lane since replacing Jacques Santini, has emerged as candidate to succceed Ronald Koeman at Ajax.

Arnesen, however, believes the Dutchman will turn down an approach from his homeland.

“I am very comfortable,” he told Sky Sports News.

“Of course, I have daily conversations with Martin and, first of all, I’m always happy when people talk about people from Spurs.

“That means they’re very good and Martin is very good so it’s good that a big club like Ajax are even thinking about one of our people.

“The other side is that Martin can also see we are doing a very good job here and he is doing a very good job.

“There’s a lot of future here. I am very comfortable.

“He announced yesterday as well in his press conference that he will stay.

“I think it’s true that Ajax like him, and I love that, but he stays.”
