Brazil have named their squad for next Tuesday’s friendly with China, with the inclusion of many players from several of Europe’s top teams, a decision which has infuriated the clubs involved.

Arsenal vice-chairman Davd Dein raged about the loss of Gilberto: “A robust letter on behalf of G-14 will be sent to FIFA complaining about Brazilian players based in Europe going to China in the heart of our season.

“It will ensure that Gilberto will certainly not be available for our match against Manchester United” Dein added.

Brazil’s goalkeeper during last years World Cup, Marcos, has been dropped after a bad run of form which culminated in him conceding four goals at the weekend.

Newly-appointed coach, Carlos Alberto, has replaced Marcos with uncapped, Julio Cesar of Flamengo.
