Arsenal are closing in on promising Bulgarian youngster Nikolay Dimitrov.
The Gunners have now made an approach for the 20-year-old forward after tracking him for a number of weeks.
Dimitrov’s club Levski Sofia have now confirmed that Arsenal have made an approach to take him on trial, which they have accepted.
“We have known about Arsenal interest from about two weeks ago,” Levski’s executive director Nasko Sirakov told the local media.
“The only thing now left is for Nikolay to travel to London.”
Levski coach Stanimir Stoilov believes that Dimitrov will make a big impression at Arsenal.
“I am very happy for him,” said Stoilov. “He is young and very talented.
“The invitation from Wenger is quite a tribute, not only for the player but for the club also.”
