Struggling Serie A side Ascoli have sacked coach Attilio Tesser following their 1-0 defeat to Empoli at the weekend.
Ascoli are without a league win this season and the defeat left them 17th out of 20 teams in the league with just four points from 11 games.
The former Cagliari boss, who was in charge of the club for less than six months, refused to resign, but Sunday’s defeat proved to be the final straw for president Roberto Benigni.
Ascoli have not named his replacement although an announcement is expected later today.
