Michael Ballack has insisted he has no plans to quit Chelsea.

The German midfielder, who only joined Chelsea last summer, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

According to reports in Spain, Real are hoping to strike a double deal for Ballack and his Chelsea team-mate Arjen Robben.

In a statement on the club’s official website, Ballack said: “I am totally committed to Chelsea.

“I came here to win trophies and be successful in English football, I want to assure the Chelsea fans of that.

“I am very happy in London professionally and for my family. The speculation about me leaving is not true.

“I have no interest in leaving Chelsea and I have had no contact with Real Madrid whatsoever.

“I am frustrated by my injury at the moment but I am working hard to be fit and hope to be back very soon to join my team-mates.”

Ballack’s agent, however, has revealed to the German press that he is in contact with Real Madrid about a possible move.
