With Barcelona’s passage to the next phase of the Champions League guaranteed, coach Louis Van Gaal is expected to rest several established first-team players for the trip to Club Brugge.
Patrick Kluivert, Luis Enrique, Javier Saviola and Frank De Boer will be among those left out, as well as injury victims Thiago Motta, Phillipe Christanval, Marc Overmars, Michael Reiziger and Patrik Andersson.
But Juan Riquelme should start in a team made up of the club’s reserve players, together with promising youngsters from Barca’s B side.
