Barcelona have admitted that they are interested in signing Roma midfielder Olivier Dacourt.

Frank Rijkaard’s team are looking for a defensive midfielder following injuries to Thiago Motta and Edmilson.

“We have still not decided anything, nor have we spoken directly to any player,” stated Barca director of sport Tkixi Beguiristain .

Quizzed about Dacourt, he admitted: “Yes, it’s true that we have received information on this player.”
