Barcelona have denied reports claiming they are interested in signing Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito.

The Argentinian is part-owned by Italian Serie B side Genoa, whose president claimed this week that the likes of Barcelona and Internazionale had expressed an interest in buying the player.

However, Barca’s technical director Txiki Beguiristain, insists the club has no interest in signing Milito.

And with both players currently fitting the bill at Camp Nou, a move for Milito in the January transfer window is looking increasingly unlikely.

“It is completely false,” said Beguiristain, when asked if he could corroborate the reports.

“He is a good forward and an interesting player but were we to sign him then we would have to sell either Gudjohnsen or Eto’o and we are very happy with both these players.”
