Hamburg’s Dutch international Rafael van der Vaart claims he is not interested in a move to Bayern Munich after he was linked with the Bundesliga champions.

“There has been no enquiry and I am not interested,” van der Vaart told the Hamburger Abendblatt. “I do not feel I am ready for such a move.

“As far as I am concerned money is not the main factor. It is more important to have fun and that is happening at Hamburg.”

Bayern may well be in the market for a playmaker if captain Michael Ballack leaves at the end of the season and van der Vaart has been identified as a possible replacement.

“He would be the most expensive transfer in Bundesliga history,” warned Hamburg manager Thomas Doll. “We did not do all the hard work just to let him leave.”

Van der Vaart, 22, joined Hamburg from Ajax over the summer and has helped the club to third in the Bundesliga.
