Italian striker Luca Toni has been suspended by Bayern Munich following the remarks he made about coach Louis van Gaal.

Toni wants to move back to Serie A to improve his chances of representing his country at next summer’s World Cup finals.

Toni told Rai television on Monday that he wanted a move back to Serie A and described his relationship with Van Gaal “as good as over”.

“I have had problems with him for four months now and there is a limit to everything,” he added in an interview.

he has been excluded from from the squad for tonight’s Champions League clash with Maccabi Haifa, a move which is being reported by Bild as a suspension.

“We cannot accept this behaviour and we have made that clear to him,” said Van Gaal yesterday.

Van Gaal expects further disciplinary measures to follow.

“That is up to the board,” he added.
