England captain David Beckham has insisted he will stay at Real Madrid and dimissed speculation linking him with a move back to England.

Beckham also revealed his wife Victoria, who previously refused to move to Spain, would be joining him to live in a new house in Spain.

“I have a long term commitment to Real and to my life in Spain,” said Beckham.

“I’ve been here for one season and it feels like the job’s not done yet.”

“The support that I have received from the fans has been amazing and I would like to see them repaid with success,” he said.

There had been speculation that Beckham would return to England this summer after his form dipped in Spain following allegations that he had an extra-marital affair with his former personal assistant.

“Victoria shares my vision of our life here together.”

His view was endorsed by his wife who said: “The time is now right for the children to move to Madrid and we are all looking forward to it enormously.

“It is a fantastic city with wonderful people and David and I are looking forward to strengthening our links with both. We are all very excited.”
