David Beckham looks set to stay at Real Madrid with the former England captain continuing contract talks with the club.
Beckham’s current deal expires in the summer and although Real offered him a lucrative new two-year deal last month, the player wants guarantees that he will play regular football if he remains.
According to a spokesman for the midfielder, Beckham is keen to stay at the Bernabeu for the rest of the season.
“David has no intention of leaving the club in January,” said the spokesman.
“He still wants to play a big part in the remainder of the season with Real Madrid and talks are ongoing.”
Real may try to cash in on Beckham towards the end of the month if he continues to delay signing a new deal, to avoid losing him for free in the summer.
