According to a report in the British press, David Beckham is negotiating a move to a London club after just one season at Real Madrid.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Beckham’s major sponsors were discussing a move to London. The return to England is apparently due to his wife’s refusal to move to Madrid. Family sources told the Telegraph it was a “certainty” the player would be back in London in the summer.

Real Madrid, have banned British newspaper reporters in an attempt to protect Beckham from unwanted questioningregarding hisprivate life and an opponent to Real president Florentino Perez in the club elections has already said he would sell Beckahm if he takes over at the club.

Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri told an Italian newspaper in mid-week his club were trying to seal and audacious joint bid for both Beckham and Real team-mate Ronaldo.

Along with Manchester United, Chelsea are possibly the only club in England who could afford to sign the England captain.
