Barcelona have handed Brazilian defender Juliano Belletti a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2009.
The 30-year-old right back scored the decisive goal in last season’s Champions League triumph, scoring 10 minutes from time to give Barca a 2-1 victory over Arsenal last May.
“Everyone in the dressing room and club have told me that what happened in Paris was the fruit of my professionalism,” Belletti told a news conference on Thursday.
“I believe it is for this reason (and not just for scoring the goal) that the club have extended my contract.”
Belletti joined Barca from Villarreal in 2004 on a four-year contract.
