Benfica are the latest club to express an interest in signing Manchester United’s out of facour midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba.

The Cameroon international has made minimal impact at Old Trafford since his arrival from Nantes in the summer of 2003.

Ferguson confirmed last week that there have been enquiries for the 24-year-old but admittted that he did not want to loan the player out.

Meanwhile, the player’s agent Christophe Mongai has confirmed interest from Benfica.

“They want the player for a loan for six months to begin with,” Mongai told The Independent.

“But he wants to stay at Manchester United because he believes there is the possibility of playing.”
