Tottenham Hotspur’s David Bentley will not be joining Manchester City before the transfer deadline.
According to speculation circulating earlier in the day, the former Blackburn Rovers midfielder was set for a move to Eastlands before Tuesday’s 5pm transfer deadline.
Further reports have also claimed a swap deal involving City’s Martin Petrov could be in the offing.
But City have confirmed they have no intention of making any further signings this summer.
The 25-year-old Bentley has played just five minutes of Premier League football this season.
