Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has offered his backing to coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti’s position has come under scrutiny after Milan’s disappointing start to the season. The Rossoneri have won just one of their last seven Serie A games prompting speculation over Ancelotti’s future.

However, Berlusconi insists he still believes Ancelotti can turn things round.

“Carlo has my complete faith and that of the club officials,” said Berlusconi.

“We have a big group, but we can count only on half of them and it’s evident at this moment there are problems.”

Berlusconi also admitted that it was unlikely Milan would enter the transfer market in January.

“The group remains big and with value and I don’t think we will enter the market,” added Berlusconi.

Berlusconi also try to draw a line ubder the ongoing speculation linking Andrii Shevchenko with a return to Milan.

“It’s an issue that is behind us,” Berlusconi added. “It’s a closed argument.”
