New Derby boss Nigel Clough will be thrown in at the deep end when his side face Man Utd in a Carling Cup semi-final (1st-leg) this Wednesday.

Former coach Carlos Bianchi is returning to Boca Juniors as general manager, the club has revealed.

The 59-year-old Bianchi guided the Buenos Aires side to four Argentine league titles, three Copa Libertadores and two Intercontinental Cups between 1998 and 2004.

Bianchi has signed a three-year contract with the club, which includes a clause stipulating that he will not replace current boss Carlos Ischia if the coach leaves.

“I will not be involved in the training sessions, the selecting of the starting line-up nor the tactics Carlos employs,” said Bianchi.

“Carlos is the chief of the first team. He manages the dressing room. If I have to talk to the players, I’ll do it, but the dressing room is his property.

“My job has nothing to do with the coaching job.”
