Blackburn are due to hold talks with striker Hakan Sukur about a possible loan move to Ewood Park.

The Turkish international is a free agent after being released by Italian club Parma, and with Blackburn struggling to score at the moment, the switch could suit both parties. Initially, any deal would be short-term but of the Turkish striker impresses, a permanent deal is in the offing.

“Hakan is going to come over to talk to us this weekend,” said Rovers boss Graeme Souness.

“We will be talking about the possibility of a contract until the end of the season.

“If he likes us and we like him after that we will talk about something for the following season.”
