Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of Dwight Yorke from Manchester United in a deal reported to be worth £2 million.

Rovers have been pursuing Yorke for severall months but were unable to complete the deal because theycould not agree personal terms with the Trinidad and Tobago striker. However, Yorke has now put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal.

Alex Ferguson bought the player for œ12.6 million four years ago and Yorke was instrumental in United’s historic treble that season. But, the former Aston Villa player fell out of favour at Old Trafford last season, scored only one goal in 16 appearances, and becoming an increasingly peripheral figure at the club.
