Ajax have named Danny Blind as the man to succeed Ronald Koeman as club manager.

Blind spent 13 seasons at Ajax making more than 500 appearances for the Dutch champions.

Koeman resigned last month after Ajax were knocked out of the Uefa Cup.

Tottenham boss Martin Jol was linked with the role, but he cchose to remain with Tottenham.

But Ajax have opted for continuity with Blind, who ended his playing career with the club in May 1999 before joining the technical staff at Ajax. More recently, he was working as head of youth development for the Amsertdam club.
