Fiorentina have been dealt a huge blow with the news that striker Valeri Bojinov will be out of action for around six weeks.

The Bulgarian pulled up after scoring during the 2-2 draw with Udinese on Saturday.

Fiorentina revealed that Bojinov, who joined the club last month from Lecce for a reported €13m, would need three to four weeks of rehabilitation before he could begin full training again.

The club, who returned to Serie A this season, are 16th in the 20-team Serie A.

Bojinov has scored 12 goals in 24 games so far this season, 11 of them for Lecce before he joined the Viola.
