Valeri Bojinov, who has been linked to a number of clubs, looks set to stay at Lecce until the end of the season at least.

The Bulgarian striker was reported a target for Liverpool, but the player’s agent Jerry Palomba ruled out any move in January.

“The winter is too close to arrange any deal for Valeri,” Palomba told Bulgarian radio station Sport.

“At the moment the far more important thing than a possible transfer is to maintain his fantastic form.

“For an eventual transfer we could talk when the summer time comes as I expect that his price will rise very much.

“There is a very realistic interest in him from clubs in Italy and Spain.”
