Carlos Alberto Parreira, who led Brazil to their fourth World Cup title in 1994, has been named coach of the world champions.

During a press conference, Parreira revealed. “I cannot let a chance like that go.”

Parreira succeeds Felipe Scolari who led to World Cup triumph in Korea/Japan. It is the third time the former Kuwait and Saudi Arabia coach has led the national team and now, as on the previous two occasions, he will be assisted by former Mario Zagallo a World Cup winner as a player and as a coach.

Along with Parreiraand Zagallo, the Technical Staff will comprise Jairo Leal, from Corinthians, (as technical assistant) Moracy Santana, from Corinthians (as fitness trainer) and Paulo Paixao, from Fluminense, (as assistant fitness trainer).

Parreira’s frst match in charge of will be a friendly in China on 12 February.
