Brescia have appointed Alberto Cavasin as their new coach to replace Gianni De Biasi who was sacked yesterday.

The struggling Serie A side fired De Biasi on Tuesday following a poor run of results which has seen the club slump to 19th on the 20-team table.

Cavasin, who has not worked since leaving Fiorentina last year, has signed a contract until the end of the current season.

“Cavasin has just the necessary characteristics in order to make these next four months big ones,” said Brescia president Gino Corioni..

“He is determined, expert, he has a strong character and has always done well.

“Survival is still possible and I have enough confidence.”
