Wigan have signed Michael Brown from Fulham for an undisclosed fee.

Midfielder Brown, 30, has signed a three-year deal, leaving Wigan boss Chris Hutchings delighted.

Hutchings told the club website: “He has huge Premiership experience and is an all-action player who can play a number of roles in the middle of the park.

“He has been a real fans’ favourite everywhere he has been and I’m sure it will be no different here.

“Now the search goes on for more new blood. I still feel we need to add to the squad and we are optimistic we can make further announcements, hopefully sooner rather than later.

“Like all of our signings we have done extensive research on the player and I feel he is someone who brings something new to the table.

“We have worked really hard behind the scenes to make this one happen because I believe he will make a big difference to the side and I am really happy Michael has agreed to join us.”

Brown becomes Wigan’s seventh signing of teh summer, following the earlier arrivals of Titus Bramble, Antoine Sibierski, Mario Melchiot, Andreas Granqvist, Carlo Nash and Jason Koumas.
