Bolton’s Spanish midfielder Ivan Campo is out for at least 10 weeks with a broken foot, and may not return this season.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury following a challenge by Arsenal’s Abou Diaby in the club’s FA Cup fourth-round win over Arsenal at the weekend.

Campo’s absence means a selection nightmare for manager Sam Allardyce, who is already without a number of key players.

El-Hadji Diouf, Jay-Jay Okocha, Abdoulaye Faye and Radhi Jaidi are away on African Nations Cup duty, while Gary Speed and Henrik Pedersen are recovering from knee and Achilles problems.
