Juventus coach has confirmed that David Trezeguet came close to joining Barcelona last summer.
Trezeguet’s future at Juve was the subject of speculation last summer with a number of clubs – including Barcelona and Chelsea – believed to be interested in signing him.
Eventually though, Capello persuaded the French international to stay in Turin.
“I spoke to David when he was close to signing his transfer to Barcelona,” said Capello.
“Had I not intervened, we would be dealing with a different story.
“Here at Juve we are a group, a team and no-one takes decisions without consulting the others.”
