Juventus coach Fabio Capello has spoken of his delight at the signing of French midfielder Patrick Vieira.
“Once again, like last summer, we have got the primary objective who we wanted on the transfer market,” Capello said.
“I must compliment the club officials, [Roberto] Bettega, [Antonio] Giraudo and [Luciano] Moggi who have done very well.
“Vieira is an important player, one with great personality, and his worth will be felt in our midfield both technically and physically.”
Capello added: “Vieira will bring with him that little bit extra that new arrivals should come with.”
“For a busy season like the next one, we’ll need a very competitive squad across the pitch and now we have two excellent players in every position.”
