Roma boss Fabio Capello has dismissed reports that he has been approached by Real Madrid to become their manager next season.

Capello spent one season in charge of Real during the 1996-97 campaign and there is speculationthat he has been offered the opportunity to succeed Carlos Queiro, who has been tipped to be replaced at the end of the current campaign.

However, Capello dismissed the claims as idle speculation.

“Real Madrid have offered me absolutely nothing,” the Roma coach told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

“There are rumours here (in Italy also).”

The former Milan chief also dismissed talk that Real were set to sign thre of his players; Walter Samuel, Emerson and Francesco Totti.

“Not everyone is talking about these rumours,” he added. “I will not be speaking about this to them (the players).

“Everyone knows that they are rumours.

“They are very good players, regulars for their country and everybody wants them.”

“Anyway, it is the president who will decide. It depends on him not the coach.”
