England boss Fabio Capello insists he has had no contact with Inter over a potential move after the World Cup finals.

Capello has been linked with Inter vacancy since former coach Jose Mourinho confirmed he was leaving for Real Madrid.

But Capello says he expects to stay with England, and that Inter have not approached him to discuss a move.

“I’m England manager and I’m happy here,” said Capello. “I have not spoken with anyone at Inter Milan.”

Capello expects to finalise his contract with new Club England chairman Sir David Richards and the rest of the FA before Wednesday.

He added: “I signed a contract with Brian Barwick, then changed it with Lord Triesman, I shook his hand. Now I have to speak with the new chairman but I think I will be staying.

“It will be clear when I speak with Sir Dave Richards.”

Inter president Massimo Moratti believes Capello should be allowed to leave the England squad after the tournament if he wants to.

Moratti said: “I am pleased to learn he can disentangle himself from England after the World Cup.”
