Birmingham haven’t won at Portsmouth since 1998 so can under-fire Pompey keep up this record in the FA Cup this weekend?

England coach Fabio Capello has praised the England fans for not giving John Terry a hard time during the win over Egypt.

It was suspected Terry would be booed every time he touched the ball in the friendly clash at Wembley, but initial boos subsided early in the game.

“I really thank the crowd for supporting him,” said Capello.

“It was a very important game for him after what happened to him off the pitch and he had a fantastic game.

“He is very important to us but I knew that when I made him captain in the first place.”

The Chelsea captain, 29, said: “The way they supported me and got behind me was fantastic, I really appreciate that.

“There were a few jeers but I can handle that. They are fully entitled to their opinion.

“We have a real chance of causing some problems at the World Cup. We need a bit of good luck and we need to play well, but we also need everybody behind us, which they will be.

“We have the best fans in the world, it’s as simple as that.”
