Midfielder Albert Celades and goalkeeper Cesar are to leave Real Madrid when their contracts finish at the end of the season, the club have confirmed.

“Real Madrid have not reached an agreement to renew the contracts of Cesar and Celades so that both players can continue at the club after June 30,” the club said in a statement.

“From now on both the goalkeeper and the midfielder will be listening to offers from other clubs.”

Former Barcelona midfielder Celades joined Real in 2000 but spent last season on loan with French side Bordeaux.

Cesar has acted as understudy to Iker Casillas for most of his five years at the club, but replaced the Spanish international in the 2001-2002 season.

He was selected to play in the final of the 2002 Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen, but got injured midway through the second half and was replaced by Casillas.
